We are very proud to boast two performing groups at the Dance Shoppe, the nationally awarded Classy Dancers, and our new troupe established in 2007, the Dazzling Stars. Both groups are preparing our dancers to become mature, responsible, dedicated young adults, as well as gifted performers with bright futures.
Our Classy Dancers and Dazzling Stars recently spent an afternoon making blankets for soldiers serving our country in Afghanistan. The blankets were shipped with care packages filled with goodies by our Classy Dancer and Dazzling Star families!

THE DAZZLING STARS
Comprised of dancers aged 7-12, the Dazzling Stars performance team offers dancers an opportunity to gain valuable performing experience without the pressure or commitment of joining our competition team. They are focused on community outreach and entertainment. These dancers take a minimum of ballet and jazz, in addition to their weekly class that includes stretch and a half hour of choreography.
Our Dazzling Stars performance troupe continues to entertain audiences in its fourth year. These young dancers started the season by joining our musical theatre classes at several local nursing homes during the winter holidays. In January, they were a big hit at our annual Classy Dancer showcase. Next up, they will attend the Dance Masters of Michigan competition and perform for critique at a recreational level, and take workshop classes too. Look for them around the town in several charity events and parades later in the season too!
THE CLASSY DANCERS
Established by Terri Newman over 20 years ago, the Classy Dancer competition team is known throughout the nation for its technical proficiency and emotional execution. Each year, the studio’s instructors, as well as outside choreographers, set artistic creations on our talented dancers. These dancers take a weekly minimum of two ballet classes, 2 stretch classes, a jazz class, and one optional class, in addition to their choreography classes. Our elite Select team is an additional offering for high-schoolers that are looking for a pre-professional program to further their dance studies. Alumni from these programs have gone on to perform throughout the country, from Branson to Vegas, to Los Angeles to New York. Performers have danced in the renowned Alvin Ailey dance company, Rockettes, Sesame Street Live, on Star Search, and in local pageants, just to name a few. Many dancers receive full college scholarships to continue their dance training.
